Catering 101

Retired Professional Lisa L. Bixby of Bixby's Caterers, LLC:

Ms. Lisa Bixby served as President and Owner of Bixby’s Caterers, LLC., from 1994-2017 where she oversaw the operations of a full service, off premise, catering business.

Lisa began her career after she graduated from Hollins University in Roanoke, Va. in 1985.  She accepted a job at The Wilmington Hilton in Wilmington, Delaware, and with this company, she spent six years fine tuning her skills in the Food and Beverage Industry. In 1991, Lisa accepted a position with a local restaurant, which also provided full service catering, and was where Lisa caught the catering bug. In 1994, Lisa joined forces with a colleague who was a Chef, and the two of them created Bixby’s Caterers, LLC.

Lisa served as the Director of Operations and Front of the House Manager, overseeing daily operations of the business including purchasing, staffing, customer relations and the overall execution of events. Bixby’s Caterers was honored and privileged to have successfully served hundreds of clients in its twenty-three year history, until its retirement in 2017.

Lisa has always maintained that if you are going to do something, (whatever it is that you choose to do), that you should do it right. She also believes that integrity plays a great role in success. She prides herself in her leadership abilities, attention to detail, communication skills and desire to fulfill each and every expectation demanded of her, both with her clients and with her staff.

Lisa is the President Elect of the Brandywine Naamans Rotary Club, of which she has been a member for nine years. Volunteer services now takes great precedence in her life, and gives it more meaning than ever. In addition to Rotary, Lisa is on the Alumni Council at The Tatnall School, loves to garden, spend time outdoors, and travel. She lives in North Wilmington with her husband Gregg and their two cats.
